This DADU in East Nashville was designed following that simple scheme but it provides extra features by adding a balcony and a rooftop. The simple scheme allows it to be adaptable to multiple lots configurations, and maintain affordability.
Designed for the property owner who plans to rent out the DADU as a long term rental, the 700 square foot structure is planned to share a pool and yard with the main residence. The bottom level, besides being a garage, contains a space for a workshop, a bathroom that serves the pool and storage. Particular to this design, the client requested for the garage to be separate from the stairs toward the second level but with the possibility of adding a door in the future to access the stairs directly from it. The second level is composed of a kitchen/living space, two bedrooms, and a large bathroom. There is also a laundry closet for a stackable washer and dryer. The large balcony holds the spiral stairs towards the rooftop with views towards downtown Nashville.
